David Whyte - Blessing for the morning light

E-mail Stampa PDF
BLESSING FOR THE MORNING LIGHT
The blessing of the morning light to you,
may it find you even in your invisible
appearances, may you be seen to have risen
from some other place you know and have known
in the darkness and that that carries all you need.
May you see what is hidden in you
as a place of hospitality and shadowed shelter,
may what is hidden in you become your gift to give,
may you hold that shadow to the light
and the silence of that shelter to the word of the light,
may you join every previous disappearance
with this new appearance, this new morning,
this being seen again, new and newly alive.

THERE IS A ROAD ALWAYS BECKONING - David Whyte

E-mail Stampa PDF
THERE IS A ROAD ALWAYS BECKONING
There is a road
always
beckoning.
When you see
the two sides
of it
closing together
at that far horizon
and deep in
foundations
of your own
heart
at exactly
the same
time,
that’s how
you know
it's where
you
have
to go.
That’s how
you know
it’s the road
you
have
to follow.
That’s how
you know
you have
to go.
That’s
how you know.
It’s just beyond
yourself,
it’s
where you
need to be.

...
The collective sense of longing for the open road that we share with almost every other soul on the planet at the moment, is enormous and like a pent up felt force. As we sit or stand, looking out of our windows at a world that once welcomed us into every one of its four corners, we can each of us feel a readiness to somehow set out anew. This is a piece dedicated to that longing and more importantly to the knowledge beneath the longing, that when we can actually go, we will know where to go. D.W.
