Superimposition

“... super-imposition is a chief feature of the new astrology.” (EA 514)

In Triple Sun horoscope formula with its superimposition methodology we are essentially working out the inter-relation between our Monad, with its sufficient will acting in time and space in its triple world, of life-quality-appearance (represented by the three constellations of your sun, rising and opposite signs) based upon the transformation brought about by divine attraction. Through the successive steps, stages or phases of this process, which the esoteric horoscope blueprints, our Monad forces our personalities to achieve the purification which will lead them to be "Light Incarnate" acting as a transparent medium for the revelation of divinity.

The three phases of the triple sun Zodiacal Meditation formula I teach are really designed to give a panoramic view of the process of the triple phases of building the rainbow bridge. My astrological instruction seeks to lay a firm foundation of understanding the rainbow bridge through the lens of the triple sun horoscope so that it may be related to the initiatory process involved in the gradual expansion of consciousness. As such I seek to supplement and supply our needs as we proceed further with the Tibetans advanced instructions and training for group initiation. As we know all this advanced astrological teaching of the Tibetan represents his method of assisting the disciple to build the second half of the rainbow bridge.

Objectives of the Esoteric Astrological Technique of Sun sign and rising sign superimposition:

1. To indicate what the major life problems are for the disciple in incarnation through superimposing the esoteric rulers of the Rising sign chart over the exoteric rulers of the Sun sign chart in the 12 houses.
2. To produce the appearance of the outer life of the initiate in the three worlds and the inner world of subjective realization through superimposition of the esoteric rulers of the Rising chart over the esoteric rulers of the Sun sign chart in the circle of 12 houses.
3. To bring about the alignment of two energies – that of the Sun sign and that of the Rising Sign.
4. To produce the conscious realization of the soul purpose embodied in the Rising Sign.
5. To bring into potency of the Rising sign to the personality life in full expression eventually.
6. To delineate the nature and the effects of the evoked soul energy of the Rising sign in relation to the personality force of the Sun Sign.
7. To release the energy of the Rising Sign, express Soul Purpose and bring the dynamic Will into action.
8. To produce a greater expression of soul intent and purpose into the life of the disciple.
9. To produce by the dual superimposed alignment and consequent inflow, a fusion with the energies of the Rising sign with those of the Sun sign in order that the two energies may prepare the disciple for initiation. The two energies have to be blended in order to set up an adequate magnetic pull so that response may be forthcoming later from the Opposite sign.
10. To facilitate the expression of the energies of the esoteric rulers of the rising sign chart in the daily life of the disciple, through stimulating the vital or etheric body.
11. To present opportunity for the soul Will aspect of the disciple to display itself.
12. To bring into increased activity the four centers above the diaphragm, i.e., Head, Ajna, Heart and throat centers.
13. Supplemented by the energies of the Rising sign to focus the energies of the Sun Sign with depth and the penetrative quality of the disciples consciousness.
14. To produce a careful registering of the nature of the energies of the Rising sign and its 12 esoteric planetary rulers invoked and evoked.
15. To produce a sensitivity and a developed understanding as to the effects that these energies of the Sun and Rising sign horoscope produce upon the disciple in the three worlds.
16. To produce the evocation of the Will coming from the Monad, evoked by the soul, registered by the personality.
17. To direct and control the expanding energies of the Sun sign with the driving energies of the Rising sign directed by the illumined spiritual man upon the verge of liberation.

Bear in mind that the 12 esoteric forces of the ruling planets of the 12 houses of the Rising sign chart combine with the 12 forces of the exoteric or orthodox planets of the Sun sign chart and that they do not negate their influence. The esoteric planets only supplement and dominate the exoteric planets. The disciple is thereby enriched and his experience is extended and his consciousness expanded by the new esoteric planetary energies, but all the time the effects and conditioning achieved and attained under the exoteric planetary rulers of the Sun sign influences are not altered. The exoteric planets ruling the 12 solar houses are determinative in nature and fix qualities and, therefore, remain persistent and energetic, but the new newer and deeper influences of the 12 esoteric planetary rulers and potencies of the Rising sign chart motivate gradually and supersede all activity.

In the sun sign chart affecting potently his personality aspect, material conditions, circumstances, hereditary, karma, etc., the 12 exoteric or orthodox planets governing the 12 houses concern the physical plane expression of the man. Producing the unfolding of the inner life, in the rising sign chart through the fusion of the energy of the 12 constellations with the 12 planets the stimulation of the soul within the form producing subjective activity takes place. In phase I of superimposition, the technique involves the study of the two charts of the disciple under inspection, the sun sign chart of the personality and the rising sign chart of the soul. These two charts are used by astrologers of the White Lodge in studying the horoscope of disciples and initiates upon the Path of Initiation. Triple Sun Horoscope superimposition formula, process and technique is the esoteric astrology of White Lodge Initiation; hence, it has not been taught by any living astrologer as there have been no White Lodge initiate astrologers in incarnation on the physical plane.

In the sun sign chart and the rising sign the whole sign or “arm” of the cross not a degree of the ecliptic mark the commencement of the first house. These two horoscopes and the third based on the Opposite sign are based on “charts of the crosses” wherein the “arm” is the house. In the case of disciples and initiates the focus of the investigating esoteric astrologer is entirely in the realm of consciousness and the interconnection with his subject between his soul, personality and monad through the use of superimposition.
The White Lodge whole sign and Arm of the Crosses mode of approach is radically different from an exoteric chart form approach and only applicable, once again, to disciples and initiates in training for initiation. Disciples and initiates are “responsive to the influences of the 12 arms of the three crosses as they pout their influences through the esoteric planetary rulers of the 12 houses.” (EA 514)

The Triple Sun Horoscope whole sign house division of the Zodiac is a system in which the 12 houses are of equal length. Unlike orthodox western astrology that measures the longitude of a house from the exact ascendant-point in the sign rising in the east treated as its 1st house cusp, in the Technique of Superimposition based on the Charts of the Crosses the entire sign is treated as a house irrespective of the ascendant-point in the sign rising in the east. The standard esoteric convention is to treat the house and the sign of equal length
White Lodge "charts of the crosses" technique is based on the whole sign or arm of the cross equal to one house principal. The principle of dividing the zodiac into twelve equal parts relates to the original Whole Sign houses system. Accordingly, in the Esoteric astrology of the soul the sign ascending is the first house and any planet placed therein is deemed to be in the first house; the sign next to the ascendant will constitute the second house and any planet placed therein is deemed to be in the second house. In other words, the sign and house are deemed synonymous. All yogas given in ancient Hindu astrological texts are based on this principle.

In the process of Triple Sun Horoscope superimposition if you will study the higher and the lower aspects and expressions of the rays you will see how the two fields of expression of the exoteric rulers of the sun sign chart and the esoteric rulers of the rising sign chart work. It is important to differentiate between the higher and the lower expression of the rays of the 12 planets that rule your 12 houses in both your un sign and rising sign charts. In doing so it will become apparent to you how easily the higher expressions of the esoteric rulers lose their hold and the lower exoteric rulers maintain their dominance. The disciple's task is of bringing the two sets of rulers together in accordance with the immediate intent and Life Plan for the benefit of the evolving Life. The situation is complicated by the fact that the 12 rulers influence and express themselves (as is ever the case) in a dual manner and have a higher and a lower manifestation, which is a correspondence in this connection to the lower form in the personality Sun sign chart and the soul expression, the higher form, in the Rising sign chart. The lower forms of expressions of the 12 planetary ray rulers of the houses of the Sun sign chart are tenacious and dominant and because of this they definitely constitute a problem for the disciple,

Blueprinted in his Triple Sun horoscope, the disciple’s task is to superimpose the soul qualities of the planetary rays of the 12 houses of his rising sign chart over the 12 planetary rulers of the 12 houses of his sun sign chart. The first of several of the chief planetary superimposition techniques of White Lodge esoteric astrology, is setting up the overlay between the 12 esoteric planetary rulers of the rising sign chart and the 12 exoteric planetary rulers of the Sun sign chart because in this manner DK highlights, the major life problems of the disciple comes to light.

In the two separate chart wheels, the dual expression of the Seven planetary Rays, with their lower passive and recessive personality traits on the one hand including their glamour and vices along with their higher active soul qualities of their virtues of the planets and rays on the other hand are contrasted. In this manner the interplay between the two sets of the exoteric and the esoteric rulers of the 12 houses can be observed, experienced, studied, understood and finally mastered.

For example I am a 4th ray personality with a Virgo sun sign with Aries rising so the exoteric ruler of my sun sign and first house in my personality chart is 4th ray Mercury and the esoteric ruler of my first house in my rising sign is also Mercury. As I am a 4th ray personality Mercury is potent to the extreme and is therefore also the ruler of my personality based sun sign chart. In order to see how much harmony and balance and soul beauty I am expressing and bringing through onto the physical plane, or not, I need to contrast and compare the higher intuitive expression of the 4th ray via Mercury ruling Aries over the lower expression of the 4th ray via Mercury ruling Virgo in my personality chart with the tendencies of instability, vacillation, restlessness, criticism, irritation, ambivalence, worry, conflict and moodiness etc.
My 2nd house issues of spiritual values, as a disciple, are indicated in my rising sign chart by Taurus that is esoterically ruled by Vulcan whereas my exoteric ruler of my house of money in my personality chart is governed by Venus because it is Libra. Again the same method of superimposition is used. Vulcan, with its higher active features of renunciation, withdrawal, endurance, stamina, strength, fortitude and will is superimposed over Venus with its lower expressions of love of comfort, materiality, fashion, glamour, intrigue, indulgences, money, glamour, selfishness.

In my Triple sun horoscope this is what the enumeration of the exoteric and esoteric ruler of my 12 houses looks like. I would suggest that interested astrologers set up their own column of planetary rulers and begin to compare and contrast to see which is the most dominant and to what extent you have successfully dominated your personality features and tendencies in each one of your 12 houses with your soul qualities.

1st houses: Mercury/Aries over Mercury/Virgo
2nd houses: Vulcan/Taurus over Venus/Libra
3rd houses: Venus/Gemini over Mars/ Scorpio
4th houses: Neptune/Cancer over Jupiter/Sagittarius
5th houses: Sun/Leo over Saturn/Capricorn
6th houses: Vulcan/Virgo over Uranus/Aquarius
7th houses: Uranus/Libra over Jupiter/Pisces
8th houses: Mars/Scorpio over Mars/Aries
9th houses: Earth/Sagittarius over Venus/Taurus
10th houses: Saturn/Capricorn over Mercury/Gemini
11th houses: Jupiter/Aquarius over Moon/Cancer
12th houses: Pluto/Pisces over Sun/Leo
